Our Wedding- Reception

Our Wedding- Reception

Warning this just might be my longest post ever. I'll start by sharing the story of my wedding planner. I met Kristen of an Affair to Remember over the phone after a very aggressive search for an awesome planner in Orlando (thanks Fona). I had actually almost committed to another planner when I spoke with Kristen and knew she just had to be my event designer. It was a great decision and my dream of a winter inspired summer wedding came to life.
We really wanted our 450 guest wedding to feel like an intimate gathering so our setup was a bit different. The ballroom was a pretty large one so Kristin made sure to make use of most of the space. We had a mix of long tables made into x formations, banquet tables and rectangular tables. Everything was just a beautiful mismatch of styles and I LOVED it! The entryway was draped to emphasize the intimate wintery feel and a favors table was placed right in the middle. This was the first thing guests saw when they walked in and it was perfect. I can't emphasize how grateful I am to the ladies of An Affair to Remember and Teresa Bernstein of the Hilton Orlando. They took my vision to a whole other level.
I think I stared at our floral and crystal chandelier throughout the wedding. Raining Roses Production created this awesome statement piece.  We wanted to keep the backdrop full of whites and let the lighting do the rest of the work. Lighting works magic, I tell you!

How I wish we had opened one of these favor boxes for Collins to see. Inside we put a few candy favorites from our childhood in Nigeria including Chocomilo, Tom Tom, Malta Sweet and Buttermint (I have to thank my mother for indulging in my lunacy and trucking a hundred and so bags from Nigeria)

Yes! My all-time favorite wedding favor were these bad boys above. I took branding our wedding seriously and wanted our guests to have something they would absolutely love to remember us by. Hopefully I'm not the only one who still wears my sunshades around.
Clearly we were more than pleased with the decor. The ladies at An Affair to Remember definitely got our vision. I wanted a Midsummer "winter's dream", and that is what I got.
I think my favorite detail were the monogrammed decals on the ghost chairs AND on the mirrors in the bathroom ( how cool!). The floral and crystal chandelier was a close second.

Yeah, so like I said, our wedding was the day of our dreams. It was SO much fun to reminisce on that awesome day in September. I can't believe it has been over a year already. I'll do a post on our wedding favors on Friday since some of them were not pictured in this post. 15. I agree the monogram details were fab and the use of long tables instead of many round was also a beautiful way to unite the wedding guests. Great job! #lovegrows indeed!
